Review: For me, "Wasandrien" was a little time travel back to my childhood. As a big fan of Enid Blyton's "Famous Five" series, I was instantly caught up in the atmosphere of adventurous holiday days. Christina Polacsek tells Sebastian's story in a pleasantly flowing, child-friendly language that also fits the time in which the story takes place. The vivid description of the island of Wasandrien is particularly successful. While reading, I felt as if I was traveling to the island with the children. The characters are lovingly and authentically portrayed, especially Sebastian, who quickly wins your heart. Themes like courage, adventurous spirit, friendship, and family bonds are at the center, but the excitement is not lacking either. Conclusion: An exciting vacation adventure with a nostalgic flair, ideal for reading aloud or for experienced young readers. Those who enjoy diving into thrilling treasure hunts will not want to put this book down.
